The Delta Tau chapter participates in various service projects over the course of the school year.
This helps us contribute our share to the progress of mankind.

Every year, the Delta Tau chapter gets together with the local alumnae and packs boxes for Focus Hope in Detroit. This organization donates its food boxes to the homeless and those less privledged. This last year, we packed over 2,000 boxes that were given out. It is a great chance to meet our alumnae and make a difference in the community!

Another annual service project that Alpha Sigma Tau does is to participate in the Center for Student Activities' Make a Difference Day and MLK Day of Service. Each year is something new, and this year we got to plant trees with the Greening of Detroit. With a lot of hardwork and teamwork from the sisters, we were able to plant around ten trees on our own to help our community.

Last March, the Delta Tau chapter did their second Habitat for Humanity Build! Sisters got together and built a shed on a Saturday. Habitat helps provide shelter and homes to those who need it most but at times can not afford the work to fix it up or build it on their own. This was just a part of the annual work that the Delta Tau chapter does with Habitat for Humanity.

Another volunteering event put on by the Center for Student Activities, sisters volunteered at the annual MLK Day of Service. In January 2014, the sisters got to volunteer at their local philanthropy, HAVEN! The activities that day included, refurbishing their garden, and cleaning and organizing the childrens play room.

This summer, our sisters got to go on a summer trip to help out at Pine Mountain Settlement School. While there, they got to help out kids by doing learning activities as well as other fun camp activites, while learning about nature and even participated in a water balloon fight!

To raise money for Pine Mountain Settlement School, we had an Easter Egg fundraiser which featured various prizes. We have done this the past two years to benefit Pine Mountain, while meeting new people and giving them prizes such as candy, stickers, sticky notes and giftcards! From this, we made over $300 for our national philanthropy!

As part of the new member program, our new members put on a service event. The Alpha Kappa class decided to hold a bake sale for HAVEN. The Alpha Lambda class held a raffle dubbed "Hope for HAVEN", and the Alpha Mu class sold pink ribbons to benefit breast cancer research.

Our sisters also volunteer on Oakland's campus! Our sisters volunteer every year at Freshman Move-in, to help all the new students move into the residence halls. Alpha Sigma Taus also volunteer at Orientation Part 2 which helps incoming students learn more about their major that they are going into as well as Jump Start, to further help new students.
